Keychoice partners with All Broker Services for new Excess Protection offering

Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP, has partnered with All Broker Services to provide its broking community with access to an integrated Excess Protection add-on policy through SSP’s back-office systems.

The All Broker Services Excess Protection product provides policyholders peace of mind knowing that after they have been involved in a claim they will not be left out of pocket after paying their excess. The product has an aggregate cover limit, so policyholders can claim as many times as they like up to their chosen cover limit and can also be used in a non-fault claim, provided the third party has failed to reimburse the policyholders excess.

Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director at SSP said:

“I am delighted to be working with All Broker Services to provide our members with access to an add-on product that will help their customers mitigate any exposure to a potentially significant financial impact, at a time when they may least be able to afford it.

“We’ve seen a lot of demand for fully integrated add-on products within the Keychoice community so this is another important step in our commitment to enable our broker members to trade efficiently and provide the best possible service to their customers”.

Wayne Dunthorne, Sales Director at All Broker Services said:

“I am thrilled that All Broker Services has been chosen by SSP as the Excess Protection partner for its Keychoice distribution group and we are looking forward to working more closely with the Keychoice team. This will hopefully be the start of a great partnership with Keychoice to the benefit of its members, providing the first of many sustainable products for the end customer.”

Keychoice and RAC extend relationship with specialist products

Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP, is pleased to announce the extension of its long-term relationship with the RAC for a further five years. This will see the RAC continue as its exclusive breakdown partner until early 2024.

The new deal underlines Keychoice’s commitment to nurturing longstanding partnerships with market-leading brands, and the development of additional products through these partners to drive further benefit and value for its members.

Following the success of RAC car, van and bike breakdown, Keychoice is broadening its members’ product portfolio with the introduction of five specialist breakdown products, as well as RAC motor legal expenses and RAC top-up loss insurance.

Keychoice’s broking community has shared that their customers have asked for more commercially-orientated RAC breakdown and motoring products. To meet this demand, brokers who are Keychoice members will be able to offer cover for taxi, motorhome, minibus, courier vehicle and taxi minibus breakdowns. This includes recovery of the vehicle to a single destination anywhere in the UK and onward travel if the vehicle can’t be repaired at the roadside.

With RAC top-up loss insurance, if a customer’s vehicle is written off, they will be paid 25% on top of their insurer’s settlement figure. This additional payment helps to top-up any shortfall in the price paid for the vehicle versus its current market value. This is particularly pertinent for self-employed individuals, for whom their vehicle is their business.

Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director at SSP said:
“I’m delighted to have extended our partnership with the RAC, which is testament to the strong relationship we’ve already built up.

“Keychoice members are set to have access to a total of ten products from a leading brand with an excellent reputation and customer service, and we have a number of other ancillary products in the pipeline. As a result, brokers will have the flexibility and functionality to keep their customers on the road, both for pleasure and business.”

Richard Fuller, Head of Partnerships at the RAC said:
“SSP is a trusted strategic partner, so it’s great to be able to announce a new long-term arrangement with its Keychoice distribution business.

“Keychoice enables us to connect with hundreds of high street brokers at once, all of whom can offer their customers more tailored motor cover. My team and I look forward to working with Keychoice to develop, in partnership, innovative new products that continue to deliver value to its brokers and their customers.”

Keychoice partners with LV= for new specialist vehicle offering

Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP, has partnered with LV= to provide exclusive access for brokers looking to place specialist vehicle business with the insurer.

Whether driven by the engineering, aesthetics or noise of their cars, owners of specialist vehicles have a passion that goes beyond the usual commute from A to B. Expanding the Keychoice product range with the insurance scheme from LV= means members can now place the niche business of these vehicle enthusiasts and access a new lucrative market.

LV=’s Highway KC Specialist Vehicle product provides cover for classic cars and motorhomes, including referrals for American cars, modified vehicles and ex-military vehicles — all of which require specialist insurance.

Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director at SSP said:
“Everything we do is aimed at improving life for our members, so I’m delighted they can now benefit from the dedicated underwriting knowledge and expertise required for this specialist scheme business.”

Michael Lawrence, Personal Lines Director at LV= said:
“We are pleased to be delivering specialist vehicle cover through Keychoice, which enables us to reach out to 500 traditional high street brokers in one fell swoop. This partnership provides a single point of access for all brokers to address the insurance needs of vehicle enthusiasts which might otherwise have been overlooked.”

Keychoice brokers to cover non-standard risks

Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP, has partnered with Plum Underwriting to enable its broking community to meet the needs of policyholders with non-standard homes.

The partnership makes it easier for Keychoice members to process non-standard risks that they might otherwise have not been able to place. This includes houses that are built from non-standard materials, affected by subsidence or flooding, or unoccupied for extended periods, as well as cases where the owner has criminal convictions, has been declared bankrupt or has an adverse claims history.

As Plum Underwriting has focused on the specialist home insurance market for 15 years, Keychoice brokers can benefit from a highly experienced team of underwriters with extensive knowledge of the risks involved, backed by the security and strength of Lloyd’s capacity.

By joining Keychoice, Plum Underwriting has greater access to regional brokers – a key distribution channel in the UK insurance market.

With all of Keychoice’s members working from a single technology platform, Plum Underwriting has a continuous view of how its non-standard home insurance product is performing. As a result, the underwriting agency can fine tune the product’s performance with existing members, which will drive greater adoption amongst brokers and generate greater volumes of data for further fine-tuning.

To complement this, Plum Underwriting has access to the utilisation team within SSP, who visit brokers on a regular basis. This will ensure its non-standard home insurance product is being used as frequently and effectively as possible.

Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director at SSP said:
“I am delighted to be working with Plum Underwriting, which has once again been rated one of the UK’s top 5 personal lines insurers in the Insurance Times Broker Service Survey.

“The partnership enables our members to offer cover for a range of non-standard properties that mainstream insurers often lack the specialist knowledge to effectively quote for, while benefitting from exclusive discounted rates.”

Simon Lewer, Business Development Director at Plum Underwriting said:
“Joining Keychoice enables us to work with the traditional high street brokers that we wouldn’t otherwise have access to, and efficiently allows us to trade with up to 500 brokers through a single partner.

“Given the proven track record of Keychoice members in writing highly profitable business for insurers, this is a fantastic opportunity for us.”

SSP invests in commercial lines with new appointment

SSP has strengthened its Keychoice insurance distribution business with the appointment of Graham Walker as Commercial Lines Relationship Manager.

The move follows the announcement of Keychoice’s regional panel for commercial lines business in July. Reporting directly to Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director, Walker will use his wealth of industry expertise to drive the panel forward, working closely with providers to develop a best-of-breed solution that provides a significant competitive advantage for brokers and insurers.

Walker brings over 30 years’ experience to the role, gained in both a family-run local brokerage and several key positions in the commercial arm of Swinton, where he managed local insurer relationships.

A key part of SSP’s strategy is the adoption of commercial e-trading, which makes it easier and quicker for brokers to gain multiple quotes from different insurers with no re-keying. In return, insurers gain greater access to high street brokers, one of the most profitable channels in the UK insurance market.

The distribution of commercial insurance products is evolving quickly, and SSP is committed to the adoption of e-trading. SSP has seen an uptake in volumes as a result of this revitalised approach to commercial e-trading and recently announced Ageas as the third leading insurer to join its Polaris imarket live-chat platform.

“I am delighted to be joining the SSP distribution team at such an exciting time, where development and innovation are at the forefront of every project,” said Walker. “From a commercial point of view, SSP has a clear vision to increase the range of products available to Keychoice members to help them grow their business. I am looking forward to meeting and working with our fantastic partners.”

Speaking about the appointment, Ron Atkinson said: “I am really pleased to welcome someone of Graham’s calibre to Keychoice to champion commercial lines. He is our fourth new appointment in the last 10 months, as we invest in our team ready for the next phase of growth and evolution.”

Keychoice backs brokers with unique regional solution

Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP, is creating the market’s first regional solution, bringing exciting new products and services to its broking community to help them win in the market.

This includes building new regional panels for personal lines and commercial lines business, with innovative new core products. Members will also benefit from a series of integrated add-on products, such as the Keychoice RAC fully integrated breakdown recovery scheme. Over 170 brokers have already signed up for this product, with some experiencing a resultant increase in sales of 25%.

Insurers who join the new Keychoice panels will have greater access to high street brokers, one of the most profitable channels in the UK insurance market. As Keychoice products are exclusively available through SSP, its unique position and make up mean its members write highly profitable business for insurers.

With all brokers using the same technology platform, Keychoice provides a holistic and continuous view of how they are trading. The meaningful insights generated mean insurers have the unique perspective required to understand the best brokers for particular business, fine tune their product performance and extend their trading footprint to new brokers and territories.

Brokers gain a significant competitive advantage from these enhanced-rated products, driving greater adoption. This, in turn, generates greater volumes of data, which enables further fine-tuning.

Ron Atkinson, Distribution Director at SSP, said:
“Keychoice has gone from strength to strength over the last three years, with an additional 40 brokers having already joined in 2017 and a further five signing up at our SSP Broking launch event.

“I am excited by the development of this unique solution that broadens our remit and further ensures our customers’ needs are at the heart of everything we do. As we continue to work with the industry, we are looking to engage with other insurers to deliver the most competitive products to help support our brokers.”

SSP invests in insurer relationships with new appointment

SSP, a leading global provider of insurance technology solutions, has strengthened its Data and Distribution division with the appointment of a new Relationship Manager Scott Holmes.

The move follows the appointment of Siân Nicholls and confirms the company’s commitment to proactively developing its products and partnerships through continued investment in people and the business.

Reporting directly to Ron Atkinson, Head of Distribution Relationships, Holmes will manage and grow SSP’s relationships with its insurer and data partners. He will also be responsible for identifying innovative propositions that enable SSP’s customers to benefit from a wider range of products and services, while taking forward current solutions such as SoteriaDrive, its telematics offering, and Keychoice, the company’s insurance distribution business.

Holmes brings a wealth of insurance industry experience to the role, having held a number of positions focused around product and development. He joins SSP from Sompo Canopius, where he managed the relationships with software houses. Prior to this, he delivered key telematics and data enrichment strategies at LV=Broker.

“I’m very excited to join SSP at a time of extensive growth in the team,” said Holmes. “With insurers facing a tough set of challenges to remain profitable, I’m looking forward to using my knowledge and expertise to help our partners develop new revenue streams, take the fight to fraudsters, reduce their operational expenditure and retain more customers.”

Speaking about the appointment, Atkinson said:
“I am delighted to welcome Scott to our team. Our position in the broker market meant we wanted to appoint a Relationship Manager with a proven track record of building relationships and delivering unique schemes and solutions to brokers. Scott’s appointment confirms our commitment to the broker market at a time of great change in the industry.

“Scott will be key in enabling both insurers and brokers to benefit from the market-leading data intelligence our partners provide. Our continued focus on innovation puts SSP at the forefront of identifying the next new thing in the data space. When our partners ask us for something, they can be certain we have the knowledge to deliver.”

Keychoice extends its motor insurance panel through new partnership with Markerstudy

Markerstudy Group of Companies is the latest insurer to partner with Keychoice, the insurance distribution business owned by SSP. Keychoice brokers are able to access Zenith Insurance and Zenith Marque private car and commercial vehicle insurance products at exclusive preferential rates.

The Keychoice business gives over 500 member brokers access to a wide range of products to meet the needs of their customers, helping to drive business growth whilst also increasing sales for insurers.

Keychoice has positioned data at the heart of its insurance company proposition, enabling insurers to benefit from unique data sets that are only available through the Keychoice business. This provides real insight into how much business they are writing through the channel and how they can improve their pricing to become more competitive.

The partnership demonstrates further revitalisation of the Keychoice proposition following the strengthening of its team with new hires in recent months.

Liz Mitchell, General Manager, Keychoice commented:
“Markerstudy is a great addition for our members and enhances the force of our proposition. We are at an exciting phase in the evolution of Keychoice as we continue to expand the complementary strategic partnerships on our motor insurance panel.”

Anthony Foster, Head of Broker Management at Markerstudy added:
“Keychoice is a well-recognised brand, but we were also impressed with the commitment of the team and its ability to communicate with a wider number of fast-growing brokers and deploy products in a cost-effective way. The additional data-driven insights provided by SSP complete a full package that offers us enhanced product performance and real competitive advantage.”
